Jess is as happy as can be as a member of the Village Books family.  Since I was a bookworm all through my childhood, I really feel at home in the store.  Plus, I love everyone who works there!   I also really love being a part of the rhythms of this town that means so much to me.   Walking out of the store after a busy day around the holidays, the street is so beautiful with the lights, and everyone bustling happily along, shopkeepers closing up, it's really nice. Bill Bruns dropping off a copy of the Post on his way home, dogs coming in knowing there's a treat for them, and of course, "Bickie Thursday" (come in the afternoon for a home-baked treat)!  People getting ready for their summer trips and graduations... all the holidays... births, even deaths.... all of life's rhythms.  I feel like I'm in the heart of Pacific Palisades.  Thank-you to all of you out there who make it possible.
