Saturday morning… One of the big adjustments I had to make when I became a bookseller was the retail reality that you work all day Saturday and Sunday. On weekdays I get going really early and try to get a couple of hours in before the store opens, but on the weekend I sleep in a little and listen to NPR’s morning edition for awhile before I get up. One of my favorite “guilty pleasures” is reading The New Yorker magazine. In a perfect world I would have time to read it cover-to-cover every week, but in my real world, I have partially read issues strewn about every room in my house, on my desk in the bookstore and in my car. I read bits and pieces when I can, and find that it really enriches my life. Yesterday... |
